Twin Apartments
Athens, Greece (under construction)
This project is a complete renovation of two adjacent apartments in the center of Athens, overlooking the Acropolis. Conceived as “twin” spaces, the design explores balance and continuity through shared materiality, proportions, and atmosphere, while allowing each residence to retain its own subtle identity.
The interiors are defined by a restrained architectural language, combining natural materials, warm wood surfaces, lime-based plasters, and soft textile finishes. These materials were selected for their tactile quality and their ability to age gracefully within an urban Mediterranean context. Built-in furniture, custom shelving, and integrated storage reinforce the sense of spatial clarity and permanence.
Large openings and filtered daylight connect the apartments to the surrounding cityscape, framing views of the Acropolis and embedding the rhythm of Athens into everyday domestic life. The palette of neutral tones reflects the limestone, concrete, and sun-washed surfaces of the urban environment, while introducing warmth and calm within the dense city fabric.
The project seeks to balance urban intensity with domestic serenity, creating contemporary living spaces that are rooted in their historical and cultural context. Through simplicity, material honesty, and careful detailing, the Twin Apartments offer a quiet retreat within the vibrant core of Athens.
